Office 97 Professional Edition Updgade installation on new PC

To work at home I bought a pc in 97 and it had Works on it. I bought Office 97 Professional Upgrade and installed it with Works as the qualifier for being able to use Office 97 Upgrade version

I am no longer working so don't want to buy another Office Suite but have a new computer. I took Office 97 Pro Upgrade off my old computer but when I try to install it on my new computer, the Works program must be so new, the upgrade 97 version doesn't recognize it as a qualifier for the Office 97 program.... Can anyone tell me how to get this program installed
