Office 97 slow

Ever since my IS dept at work put Office 97 on my new
Dell with win-xp, it has continually gotten slower and
slower and slower to open, close, and especially print.

I have removed Outlook 97 as suggested by others. No
change. Any ideas?

Removed Outlook? Not just turned off the Journaling option? hm.

If Outlook is still on the computer and you're just not using it, open
it up and turn off Journaling. ISTR it's under Tools/Options.
