I was once told in a Word newsgroup that the sounds that come with Office XP
were all I needed to provide feedback (e.g. Word 02) with sound. This is not
quite correct, and I would like to pass on a cool tool.
From the Office 97 CD, I have an add-in called "sounds.exe." This is *not*
the same as the file of the same name in Office XP.
By installing this add-in *in addition* to the Office XP "sounds.exe" (the
order doesn't seem to matter), I get sounds for practically everything Word
02 does. I find it very helpful.
The O97 sounds add-in is still available from MSFT. Alternatively, those of
you who kept your O97 CDs will find it (424 KB) on the CD under
ValuePack/Sounds/sounds.exe.
