Office always configures when the PC is started in the morning

Situation:
PC - Dell Laptop
Operating system - XP Pro fully updated
Office Professional 2007 installed
Networked on office LAN with Server 2003 installed

Events:
Created a new user ID on the Laptop, and a new user ID on the network
Connections to Network are OK

Problem:
Every time I start MS Word, I get the "Office Configuring" screen. This
does not happen when I start the other Office products. Word works, but I
must wait through the configure process for 1-2 minutes each time.
