My problem seems to have the same symptoms as many of these other posts, but
I can alleviate it by stopping my Internet connection. Occurred with my dial
up connection and has continued with my DSL connection. When connected and I
try to do File - Open or File - Save As and click on the down arrow by the
folder name, it hangs for about 2 1/2 minutes before it will let me continue.
If I stop the Internet connection, it immediately frees up. Was occurring
before the April 2006 update that many messages are referencing. I'm on XP
Pro and I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2002.
