I have Office 2000 and recently installed Outlook 2003. Now whenever I try
to open Excel (or any other office application) I get an error saying that
"The Office Assistant Could Not Be Started. Please repair the assistant by
running Office 2000 setup and selecting Repair Office 2000". I tried this
and it seemed to work, until I opened Outlook. Then when I went back into
Excel, the error returned. So it seems to me that maybe it is some sort of
conflict between the new Outlook I installed verses the Office 2000. Did
anyone else ever have this problem? It's not a really big deal, it's just
annoying that I now get the same error every time I go into Word, Excel, etc.
and can't keep it from recurring. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
