It has been available since last month. Ask your computer manufacturer to put it on - it is an OEM only edition.

Hi Jeffrick,
MS Office 2007 Basic Edition is available already from PC providers (OEMs) that have chosen to offer it (not all have, or have not
put it as one of the 'leading' choices). Ask your PC supplier what options they're offering for the OEM/preinstalled editions.
Note that OEM editions are tied to the machine they're provide on and are not transferable. Retail MS Office 2007 products
(http://office.microsoft.com/suites) allow installation on two machines and can be transferred to another machine later.
(Office 2007 Basic Edition is an OEM only product).

I looked at one of the "big boys" (higher end). I didn't pay a lot of
attention to the site. I just started playing. I have no clue what's what on
their site - I just saw the cost.

"Keyword Search". Put "Office Basic" in that box and click the "round
blue arrow". Systems that you may order with "Office Basic 2007" will be
listed.
