Office Compatibility Script

Julia

In trying to solve an issue involving office XP we found
an article, number 319844, that tells us to run the
office compatibility script. We have not been able to
find the office xp compatibility script. Is there one
that we could download or are we supposed to use one of
the scripts for an earlier version of office?

Hi Julia,

In http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;319844
Case 6 only applies if you are running MS Office
in a MS Windows Terminal Server Environment if I recall correctly.

You may want to check with the folks in the MS Access
newsgroups
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.access.setupconfig
or
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.access.activexcontrol
on this issue and explain the scensrio where you're seeing
this error along with the build versions of MS Access
from Help=About and the Windows version you're using.

Hi Julia,

Thank you for the posting. As you indicated you want to find the office xp
compatibility script as indicated in knowledge base article 319844.

This only applies when you are using Terminal Server. The case is Office
Compatibility Script Is Not Run After You Install Access on the Terminal
Server. If you are not using Terminal Server, this does not apply to you.
If you are using Terminal Server, please refer to 263458 Terminal Services
Compatibility Scripts Available
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=263458

The "Terminal Services Application Compatibility Notes" white paper is
available at the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/administration/terminal/tsapco
mpat.asp

This white paper lists all of the application compatibility scripts that
are available with Windows 2000. Some of these scripts are not located in
the Winnt\Application Compatibility Scripts\Install folder.

Hope this helps and answers your question. If anything is unclear, please
let me know.

Sincerely,

Cherry Qian
