Office crashes when I click on the "font" select box

In any Office 2000 application on my PC I have a problem whereby it crashes
with a program error as soon as I click on the font-selector in the toolbar.

I have tried re-installing, but this doesn't make any difference. Other
applications (such as wordpad) do not exhibit this problem.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this?

I think I found a work-around to this thanks to JB's post (18/4/04 18:50)
which was to change my default printer.

Still not sure what the precise cause is though...

Whenever you experience problems with the Font, Paragraph, Style, Symbol,
Page Setup, or Print dialog, the first line of attack is to investigate the
printer driver. Because Word relies heavily on the printer driver for
information used in laying out the document, it will be more sensitive to
problems in this area than most applications are, and this will show up in
dialogs such as those listed. The general recommendation is to delete and
reinstall the printer, preferably using an updated driver (which you can
download from the manufacturer's Web site).
