Office Document Imaging - Only produces blank images

I have just set up a new Kodak i660 scanner. It is set up correctly and
scans properly except for when trying to use the MS Office Document Scanning
tool. When using the tool, it appears that everything is operating okay, but
the images displayed are all blank and the OCR says that there were no
characters detected. I have tried changin various settings, but with no
success. Suggestions?

What happens if you Scan to a B/W tif file with the scanning software
and then Open the file in MS Office Document Imaging?
