Sorry Darrell - ignore the last email pls

I did not have the yourpassword line in there but have now added it -
however im still having the same error.

Is it a case or rebooting the server or the like now?

This is whats in the mell25.dsn by the way.
[ODBC]
DRIVER=SQL Server
UID=sa
PWD=yourpassword
DATABASE=MELL
WSID=WINSERVER1
APP=Microsoft Open Database Connectivity
SERVER=WINSERVER1

Replace "yourpassword" with the actual password for the SQL Server "sa"
account that was created when SQL was installed.

If you don't have the password, someone with Administrator rights to the SQL
Server will need to put in a new password using SQL Enterprise Manager.
