Only available as a volume licensed deal of at least 5. If you purchase via
home use it is up to your company to set the price. If you are purchasing
from any online company it is not a valid purchase according to the EULA and
would be considered pirated. Otherwise DL's comments are valid.

You should have looked farther. That site shows Enterprise 2007 available
as:

You will note that it is for the HOME USE PROGRAM so my comments stand.

And is probably spotty to sell as it should only be sold to employees of the
company that holds the enterprise license. I would be highly suspicious of
retail sales of this type.

Yes I realise, just pointing out it was available on Amazon which makes it
kinda hard for an end user to work out what is a 'legitimate' site

Especially since the Home Use version is legally available for $20. (My
company offers it.)

In that case you are completely mistaken. You can buy Enterprise
version from stores all over the world. IT IS NOT A CORPORATE VERSION
but a retail version that still requires activation like any other MS
retail products. I bought mine from a company called RM in UK and
activated it in the normal way on my laptop and my desktop.

RM is not any other pirate company. It is a large multinational
corporation that supplies its products mainly to educational
institutions but recently they have started distribution to profit
making organizations.

In fact Microsoft UK wants to sell as many copies of enterprise products
as possible because the sales figures of office 2007 is very much below
its expectation. this applies to Windows Vista as well.

One can buy enterprise office 2007 for £42 and Windows Vista Ultimate
for £42, Office Project Professional for £42 and Visio 2007 professional
for £42

I bought all of them so that I have in my collection although I still
use XP Professional and Office 2003.

HOME USE - That's what makes it "special" and not to be sold. And since you
need a program code and they check your work email domain. Dodgy doesn't
even begin to describe that offer.

Hello,

Okay, so what's the story? I mean, in the end, is it possible for my
university's bookstore to be selling Enterprise 2007 for 75$ CAD? I mean, I
called Best Buy today, and the representative told me his is selling it for
$699.99. The price difference is just too great. Plus, Enterprise 2007
essentially has every office application Microsoft offers, while Home and
Student retails at $100? What's the catch? ... But I doubt my univeristy
(McGill) is doing anything illegal.

Academic licenses are different. You need to ask what the licensing rules
are that apply to that software.

You can't tell him/her anything. He/she reads what he/she wants and won't
listen to any kind of reason even when it is documented for the person.
Proven that many times and I wish Microsoft would start to crack down on all
the web sites that sell the enterprise version. Most are totally improper.
Only takes one purchase from each web site to know if they are selling
improperly. Then sue and shut them down (at least for the time being) and
then block all the license keys. One employee per country with a credit
card would work.
