Office Enterprise 2007 - Missing WordLR.cab file

B

Bob Irvine

I've Googled this and found similar questions here, but no solutions posted.
I've just purchased Office Enterprise 2007 and the error message I get when
trying to install is [on new Toshiba running Vista Ultimate] is: "Setup
cannot find Word.en-us\WordLR.cab. Browse to a valid installation source, and
click OK.".
I can see the Cab-File on the DVD however its size appears to be 0 Kb...
Suggestions?

Office 2007 Enterprise Edition is a Volume License version of Office, You need to get in touch with the IT person at your Company who is the one that can sort this out with Microsoft.

I planned to, but since I've seen the question before, I thought that someone
would be able to assist me over this Holiday Season...
I know my IT people are gone now - until the New Year.

No suggestions even? Hints?
Thanks for the time thus-far...

Fixed.
After a bit of time on the phone with Microsoft Support people, the fix was
to copy the DVD to the Hard Drive and install it from there -
Strangly enough, the cab file was there and at its proper size of 15K...
[15,009].

I didnt understand his explination [the english wasnt that great], but we
are up and running... :)

Thank you very much, Bob. I was crazy with an almost identical problem in my
new computer, but I did as you said an it worked! (By the way, it did not
work as somebody else suggested in this forum, copying the DVD to hard disk
on a different computer, copying then to a CD in that computer and finally
installing on the new computer from CD. Why? I don't know. Could it be Vista
has a problem with DVD and CD formats?)

I'm glad it worked for someone else. Then, it's not just this new computer I
purchased.
I was reluctant to purchase one with Vista; hearing of all the issues and
problems. However, it's the same I think with all new Op-Systems; they'll
work the bugs out...
Enjoy !!!

Actually this was a license issue. Use the different Serial number while installing.
