Office files will not open

My service files indicate all Office Products previously available to me are
"not available". All my documents and other files of type either will not
open or open somewhat with wordpad or notepad... (docs, etc) I have tried
most everything...I no longer have my Software CD..am I just SOL?

I don't understand. What are "service files"?

What version of Office are we talking about? Is this an expired trial?
