Good morning!
Since yesterday, my Office applications (Entourage, Word and Excel)
provoke the complete blocking of my Powerbook G4 when using them.
I have to reboot the machine to start it again, but it is of no help
as I use always these applications and it happens again and again.
Could somebody be of any help on this?
Great thanks!
Dominique

Could you mention which versions of Office (10.1.5?) and
Mac OS you are using? Is there anything you have modified
(installed any soft)? Are there any error messages? Does
it block on launching? Double-clicking on documents icons?
Or later when in use?

I am using Office version 10.1.1 on a Powerbook G4 Titanium with Mac
OS 10.2.8.
I did not installed any soft recently.
There is no error message and it blocks later (5 minutes or so) when I
have used one of the Office applications.

Download and install the latest Office X updates, which are 10.1.2, 10.1.4,
and 10.1.5 (10.1.3 is unnecessary). They¹re available from Microsoft.

Try repairing permissions.
For OS 10.2/10.3:
Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities. Open up Disk Utility. Select
your hard disk, then click the First Aid tab. Click the button to "Repair
Disk Permissions".

Run Disk First Aid. Instructions on how to run it in OS X are located on
the Apple Knowledge Base.

Check for corrupt fonts. You can use a utility like Apple Font Book
<http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/fontbook/> to enable/disable fonts for
testing.

Extensis Suitcase <http://www.extensis.com/suitcase/index.html?ref=hp>
even claims to be able to detect corrupt and duplicate fonts; you might want
to download the free trial and see if that'll help you fix the problem.

If none of that works, remove and re-install Office X. Insert the Office X
CD, then open the Value Pack. Click the Value Pack Installer. Check
"Remove Office", then click "Continue". Run the "Remove Office" utility.
When done, re-install Office X from the CD, and apply the latest Office
updates.
