Office has unistalled itself. How do I get it back.

My PC seems to have uninstalled Office XP Professional and Publisher.
When I enter web pages I receive a message telling me to install Microsoft
Publisher 2002 or Microsoft Office XP Professional.
I have a valid licensed CD, but I have found that my CD drive has been
disabled.

All of these things happened at the same time and appear to be related, has
anyone had the same experience and know how to resolve this problem?

I have run Notron Antivirus 2005 and Microsoft Antispyware Beta1. Also
Webroot spyware check didn't highlight any problems.

The CD may be "disabled" because the operating system doesn't see it any
more. Can be caused by Autoprotect in antivirus software OR it's broken
OR the cable came loose. Now if you ALSO happen to need the CD in the
drive for feature support, and it can't be "seen", well then you see the
problem! So, I suggest you start by troubleshooting the "missing drive".
If you need assistance with that I would suggest asking in the newsgroup
dealing with your operating system.

I tried the auto protect, but that didn't fix it.
Both of me CD drives have stopped working, so I don't think its cabling.
I will try the Windows XP news group before I have to rebuild the PC.
Thanks for the help.
