Office Home and Student 2007 Installation Problem-Error 1046

I recently downloaded Home and Student 2007 and tried to install program on
my PC. At the 75 % installation mark I get an Error 1046 msg:"cannot write
the value to the registry key. Verify that you have sufficient permission" .
I checked "run as administrator" on the Home and Student properties, but that
still didn't work. Any suggestions?

Is UAC disabled?

I tried disabling that as well, it still gave me the same error message. If
I'm running as the administrator wouldn't the computer know it's "ok" to load
this program? Especially since it's not a foreign program...but a Microsoft
program. I'm at a loss.....

The issue is that some security in the operating system or third party
software is preventing Office from making the entries. If it isn't
Vista, or the UAC and you have Admin permissions, that leaves third
party software, like Symantec or ZoneAlarm, or maybe Adaware Teatimer or
other.
