Office Home and Student won't load when opening a file

I just got office home and student installed on my laptop (2007), and when I
try and open a file from the web, like powerpoint, excel, or a word file, it
won't open-or it will take at least a good 40 min to load (not joking-i timed
it). I tried twice already uninstalling and reinstalling it-and it still
doesn't work. I've tried calling best buy-were i gotit, but they were no
help. Please, if u kniw what the problem is let me know:) Thanks

You uninstalled any trial version that was preinstalled on your Laptop
first?
A File that is located on your hard drive opens without problem?
If I understand you correctly the file is downloaded before it opens,
perhaps your anti virus software is causing a problem.
What happens if you save the file to hard drive then open it?

Umm I didn;t uninstall a tril version-I first got the program installd at
best buy-so i was hoping they'd uninstall whatever was necessary:p Even when
i save the file to my harddrive-it doesn't open or takes a really, really
long time. I feel that i've tried everything-I don't know what else is wrong
or can be done. Any more suggestions???

First off uninstall the trial, assuming you are able, then repair your
Office S&E, this can be done via the cd

If you are unable to uninstall the trial, you may well have to uninstall
Office S&E first
Then if trial still fails to uninstall, you will have to manually remove,
below is copied from an earlier post.

Only after Trial is removed install OfficeS&E

Of course you could allways backup any data and use your recovery disks to
put the PC back in as supplied condition.
Then uninstall the trial
