Office Home & Student 2007 Compatable with Works 8

I plan on purchasing Office Home & Student 2007 and currently have Works 8
and Word 2002 installed. Will it create any problems if I leave the Works 8
and Word on the computer?
I am running Windows XP Home Sp2.
Thanks for your help!

You will with Word. There is a registry edit to make multiple versions of
word work together. If you aren't real savvy with a computer, tweaking the
registry could result in a headache and a whole lot of work. Is there a
really good reason why you'd need both versions of Word? (Even I'm hesitant
about trying it!)

JoAnn,
Thanks for the comment.
I am not that concerned about Word. I would like to keep the data base
program and the spreadsheet in Works on the computer.
Agin thanks.

Hi Jim,

The MS Works apps should continue to work with either v8 or v8.5. What may not work and you may want to uninstall it is the MS
Works Toolbar plug-in for MS Word if you're going to use Word 2007.

The registry entry JoAnn is referring to is only an issue if you switch back and forth between Word versions when the MS Installer
runs to change registry/file association entries to point to the last used version as being your default Word version.
