Office Installation Failure

J

JamesJ

I needed to uninstall Office Professional Plus 2007 Beta 2 times. The third
time I attempted to install it, after selecting the Access 2007 in the
custom installation setup tells me :
"Installation has failed. Sorry for the inconvenience." or something to that
effect.
I've tried both types of installation with the same result.
I re-downloaded the setup file again. No dice.
Can someone please let me know if there is something I can do to get
this product to install?
I really would like to continue to evaluate Access 2007.
I'm currently using Access 2003.

Thanks,
James

James, Find the msiexec logs , they should help you diagnose the problem

I can't find msiexec but found several SetupExe(200608141622194A0).log
files which seem to correspond to my 5 or 6 attempts to reinstall the
product.
Viewing the file did me no good as far as diagnosis is concerned. Should
I paste the text here and let someone who knows what all that means read
it??
The file has 68 lines and does appear to be an Office install log.

Thanks,
James

I've tried both types of installation with the same result.

You could try browsing through the registry looking for Office 12 keys
and renaming or deleting them
