M

Marshall Wentz PhD

I am new to all this. I have an iMac connected to a wireless router (D-Link
DI-624M) which is in turn connected to a DSL Modem (Verizon). Also have a
Window XP connected (needs new board) so it¹s not working.
*Problem: re Office:Mac 2004; I don¹t understand what an exchange is and how
to set it up so that I; a. Get my e-mail (have Office on the Windows
machine.
* In short I don¹t know what the heck I am doing.
* Please help with settings, I am not sure I even understand the terms and
at 75 it¹s all quite new to me.
* Surprised myself that I got to this point, hope I am not making a fool out
of myself.

You need to set up Outlook on the mac so it can access your email server. It
is the New Account function. Are you using Exchange Server for email, that
is usually a business-type account and you need to check with your IT
department. Is it through your internet provider? (comcast, earthlink, etc?)
they will have directions on their web site on how to set it up.

Well, you are asking the question in the wrong place, I fear! Don't
worry though, it happens all the time. The "access" in
microsoft.public.access refers to the Microsoft Office Pro database
program Microsoft Access(TM), not to general access to the net.

Please scroll down the list of newsgroups and find
microsoft.public.mac.office and repost your question there. Someone
should be able to help, or at least point out a yet better venue for
your problem.

Good luck!
