Office - Previous File List

I've a clean install of Office 2007 on a 32-bit Vista Premium PC. When I
click on the 'Office Button' there is no listing of Previous/Recent Files in
any of my Office 2007 products (Word, Excell, PowerPoint). I've searched the
Options and Preferences menu trees and do not see a setting. How do I get
the Recently Opened filed to display.

Thank you

Normally the number of recent files in Office 2007 programs is controlled by
the setting in Office button > Options > Advanced > Display. If that
dropdown is disabled, though, you may have a registry entry that suppresses
the display of all Most Recently Used lists. It's described for Office XP
and 2003 at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284896, but it also applies to
Office 2007.

This setting can occur because of the TweakUI program, because of a group
policy setting (more likely in a business environment), or because some
other program messed up. :-(

In the Regedit program, find the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
On the right side, if there is an entry named NoRecentDocsHistory, change
its value to 0. Deleting that entry (but leaving any others in the Explorer
key) will do the same thing.
