Office Pro 2003 not working after hard drive install

R

RxRB2

I installed a new hard drive by allowing the western digital software to
create a bootable drive (basically copies all files to the new hard drive),
now Office Pro 2003 does not operate properly.

I was prompted to run repair, but when I attempt to repair I receive:

This patch package could not be opened.

I ran the suggested fix, but stillthe same error.

Do I need to uninstall, then re-install?

You can't copy Office, it must be reinstalled.

FWIW I did a clone useing Acronis True Image and Winxp and all my apps,
including Office2003 functioned correctly, without a problem.

The Office registry entries are corrupt here. Most probbly u wont be able to
uninstall either. (might be the same error message)

U might be required to download the windows installer cleanup utility, then
run it from Start menu -> all progrms and remove the Office that is installed
on ur computer. Then go ahead and install office.

you can download this utility from
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

I am having this same problem. I can use the windows installer cleanup
utility but then can't reinstall office. If I try to just uninstall office I
get the same error. So, I can't uninstall or install office. Do I have to
reformat again?
