I had Windows 2000 and Office Pro, then I installed XP Home Edition and now I
can't seem to find Office Pro! Any suggestions? Thanks

No I didn't reformat but here's what happened: Office 2000 Pro was working
fine (after successful login) but Win 2000 (w/ appropriate service pacs)
started getting stuck at "loading personal setttings" more than once so I
purchased the XP HE Upgrade. Not until I got home did I realize I needed WIN
98 for the upgrade, in which I installed, and then XP HE upgrade. Then I
installed Outlook 2003 to get my computer "back to normal." Only then did I
realize Office PRO was missing. Unfortunately I found the protective
envelope for Office Pro 2000 but the CD is MIA! I'm in school and have a lot
of data to recover. I was hoping hat there would be a way to recover Office
Pro without having to purchase the software again. I backed-up my e-mail;
should I uninstall Outlook 2003 in hopes of finding Office Pro? Thanks again

Unfortunately I misplaced (or the lil ones!) my disk! Thanks because I

Hind sight is 20/20. You shouldn't have touched the OS unless you had all of
your disks handy. No way to replace your disks now either, at least not thru
Microsoft. You're pretty much out of luck here.

for the disk and honestly I do keep all my important disks in one place; just
didn't have it under lock and key!

Upgrading any because there is a problem is rarely recommended unless you
know definitely that it will cure the problem.
You stated 'needed win98, which I installed' If you actually did this you
almost certainly formated your PC

That's what I'm thinking too. And I can't imagine that Macs have some way of
keeping their software even tho someone has upgraded his/her OS. (My
knowledge of Mac is miniscule, but I kind of doubt it.)

It isn't the "upgrade" install, as a successful one will pull over the
info from the registry. It was the "flush and fill" method used that
wiped the slate.
