While it may not help folks who are currently experiencing the problems from the *Windows* security update, Microsoft on 20Apr06
has again updated Security Bulletin MS06-015 to v1.2. The bulletin is what controls and explains explains the the KB908531 security
patch issues).
MS will be releasing a patch update to patch KB-908531 that resolves the registry issues, starting Tuesday afternoon, 25Apr06 as
described in KBA-918165. Additional details are in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) of the 20Apr06 edition of the security
update here

been revised to v1.1 to reflect the issues in KB918165 and now points
to the KB918165.
Now may not be the time to learn Regedit.
I suggest you use a .reg file already done for the purpose.

Unzip it, extract the .reg file to a folder, right-click it and select
Merge and confirm when asked.
