Office programs seem "disabled"

All of a sudden, my Office programs seem to be disabled. What I mean is for
example, in Excel, If I want to change the color of a cell, I can't, because
that function is greyed out, and I can't access that or many other functions.

The same thing goes for Word, I can't change the font or color. I tryed
HELP>ACTIVATE PRODUCT and HELP DETECT & REPAIR, and nothing seems to work.

If this sound familiar, please let me know.

Sorry, it is Office 2003 Pro. It is the full, legit version.....I have
installed this version on my desktop before with no problem.

there is a enabling feature via
the disabling button.

look under help and in the about
dialog to see if this helps...

Have you reinstalled this application in the recent past (2 months or so)?
If so, it probably needs to be activated again.

I say this from your comment "have installed this version...before."
