Office Proofing Tools for XP won't install

I have the Pro version of XP and just bought the Proofing
Tools. I tried every way possible to load the sucker -
using Run, going into My Computer and pulling it off the
E: CD drive, hitting Find, etc. I turned off my computer
and tried it again and again. I get the same message
saying that I need to install XP Office before loading
the Proofing Tools. I hit OK (the only option) and I
receive a pop-up that reads "Installation ended
prematurely because of an error."

Hi Anita,

I'm assuming you mean the Office XP Professional
Edition rather than Windows XP Professional?

If Office XP is on your PC see if you can complete
a Detect & Repair action from the Help menu in
one of its apps and also check to see if it's
recognized at http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate
when choose 'Check for Updates'
