Office ReInstall

I've been advised to reinstall MS Office xp Standard for
Students and Teachers version 2002 to solve a problem
(nothing appears in "File Name" box when I try to open a
file). Will I lose any files I currently have in Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook if I reinstall MS Office
xp Standard for Students and Teachers?

No, you should not, just don't delete anything, also before uninstalling
back up your PST file for Outlook 2002, go to File > Import/Export > (you
should see a dialogue appear about exporting data from Outlook, in a
listing, select Export Personal Folders "PST" file or something that relates
to exporting PST. Export to the PST to to easily found location such as your
Desktop or My Documents. Uninstall Office from Add/Remove > Control Panel.
Restart then reinstall. Go into Outlook and this choose File > "Import" >
(follow the same procedure as exporting, choose type of file or folder you
want import "PST", follow the wizard and import it.

Post more information for further details, if needed.

Andre - Some clarification of my question. I was going to
just put the XP disk in the CD drive and install again.
Rather than uninstalling anything. Can I do this without
losing files?
Also, below you typed "Export to the PST to to
easily...." I assume the second "to" should be "an".
Right?
Thanks, Bob
