Office Reminders Keep Popping Up for Calendar events

Email Client: imap

My calendar event reminders keep popping up and I click "dismiss", but it just pops up again shortly after. How do I make "dismiss" mean dismiss when I click it? I don't want the office reminder to keep popping up at a later time.
