Office saving problem

My Microsoft office will repeatedly ask to save over and over so that it is
impossible to use it. No matter what I do. I uninstalled all of office and
installed with a different cd and it still does the same thing

What version of Office, and what particular parts?
There is usually a auto save option under Tools, depending on version
