Poss not a new topic but did anyone solve a much earlier problem posted
but now gone? Asking virtually word for word this earlier q -
apologies:

Office software is misbehaving on page orientation when comes to print
preview and printing
All settings correct but as far as printer is concerned it ain't so

Used to be OK, started to go wrong with PPt 2003 and now Word

Brother printer - might be driver prob but are there any other
possibilties to be considered?

Many thanks in anticipation

I have similar problems from MS Publisher (Office 07). Even with all settings
correct, it stills prints the other way and cuts the pages. Which OS are you
running? I'm on Vista RC2, and this is when problems started occuring. I have
no problems with printer on the same computer, when I'm on XP. This leads me
to believe that the driver problem is the most plausible.

I assume you've tried donwloading updated drivers? Which printer is it (the
one with difficulty for me is a HP A3 one...)?

Hi Warren

This was a q asked of me by a user and I shimmied around their settings
and system and found all as reported previously (all usual basic bases
seemed to have been covered)

They're using OS XP, Office 2003 and a Brother poss HL5040 printer

I have suggested the driver solution but, as not my network or network
settings (2 machines only) am loath to blythly go in and download a new
driver

Most folk, like your good self, seem to indicate that it's entirely a
printer driver prob so will stress to these users that that's the
solution

Noticed on the MS site that they suggest as an alternative a quick fix
of changing the default page orientation on the printer settings, but
no clear indication given why the Office software should more or less
suddenly have developed a slow creeping incursion into incompatability
with the printer drivers ability to alter its page orientation received
info for at least 2 models that I've read about and poss more (HP and
now a Brother)

Have you or anyone else heard why this is the case and if the constant
updating of drivers is the only answer?

Many thanks for your considerations of this prob
