Office split pictures in documents

N

Nicolas Clerc

Hi,

My problem come very often with WORD.

When I insert pictures (especially large pictures) and print the doc, the
picture is splitted in many parts.

For exemple a picture wich make 15cm*15cm is printed in a area of 15cm*15cm
(ok), but i see 2 or 3 time the same picture : 2 times 7.5*15 or 3 times 5*15
(the picture become compressed)...

It's a very bad thing!

Any idea is welcome (especially office fix!)

Thanks

Hi Nicolas,

It can be a combination of Word settings, printer
driver/windows spooling and graphics card drivers
that produce effects such as these.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try if you're
seeing this in more than one document.

1. Try turning off background printing in Word in
Tools=>Options=>Print or File=>Print=>[Options]

2. Try turning off 'spooling' in your printer driver properties.
(i.e. set to print directly to the printer)
Start Setting=>Printers, right click on your printer
and choose Properties. It's often on an 'advanced' tab.

3. Note the driver version in the properties dialog then
check the printer maker's website to see if you have the
latest version of the driver for your printer model and
Windows version.

4. If you scroll down through your document on screen and
the graphics 'break up' you can right click on your desktop,
choose Properties=>Settings=>Advanced=>Trouble shooting
and turn down the hardware (graphics) acceleration by
two or more clicks, restart Word and see if you get better
behavior in both scrolling and printing of the graphics.
If so, check the website of the PC, graphics card, and
graphics card chip maker (especially if an Intel integrated
graphics card) to see if you have everything up to date.
