Office terribly slow since 12.1.9 update

Processor: Intel

Ever since I updated to 12.1.9 I have been having a few issues:

With the exception to Entourage, all the other apps are so slwo to do anything. I get the pin wheel constantly even when I just try to bring up the toolbox. Its taking me forever to do anything. PLEASE HELP!!!

My other issue is that I cannot get Entourage to sync to iCal. I have missed several meetings because of this issue. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work.

So I reinstalled office and that seemed to fix the slowness issues however, I still cannot get the sync with iCal working. Any ideas?
