Hi Misty,
You didn't mention the version of Office you're using or which app, or what your goal is for using the HTML choice as a document,
but
if you prefer less mess than you may want to choose something other than 'WEb document', .HTM
Web page content such as graphics are stored separately from the .HTM file, that's what the spec calls for. The .XML files are
'relationship' files ( a directory) that tie the basic document and the content in the other files together so that Word (or other
Office app) can turn the combination back into a complete Word document.
There is an alternative HTML format that Office uses, .MHT, which is in effect a .zip (single file) style version of all of the HTML
parts and folders stored in a single web file. The disadvantage of the single file is that it's not usable on the web by all
Browser types.
=======================
When I save a document, or an email as HTML, why does it create a folder with
..thmx and .xml's? It creats clutter on the computer, and when I go to delete
that folder it deletes the html file that I just created? Is this really
necessary? How can I save an html without it creating this other folder?>>
