Office update detects wrong version of Office Software

When I run office update, it detects Office 2000 whereas Office XP is
installed on my computer. How do I resolve this?

Check your Add/Remove option in Control Panel to see if you have some
leftover Office 2000 programs that were not upgraded as the XP version
lacked some of the included programs in 2000.

Actually this is the only installation of Office Software on theis PC.
Surprisingly the latest Microsoft Update recognizes Offixe XP/2002.

Did you install Outlook 2000 from a disk included with your PDA perhaps?
