rogID.Ever since I installed the latest office update I am unable to use any
of the Office Applications and recieve the same error message when I try to
access them.

When I open the application I get a window that states that Windows
Installer is try to install a new word, excell, publisher, access,
powerpoint, etc component. It then goes on to fail and show the Error Message
1406 refering to its inability to write to
\CLSID\[0A9007B9-4076-11D3-8789-0000F8105754]\ProgID.

Is also states that I do not have authority to write to this registry key.

I have also logged on under all the accounts I can find but nothing works.

The basic problem started after Office SP2 but at least I could log on as
Administrator and get the updates done. Now after the latest Office Security
Udate all is staffed.

Windows XP updates work fine with no such problems.

Help ............... I am pretty convinced these problems have been caused
by the security updates themselves.

I have followed all the instructions in Articel ID 838687 and ahve gotten no
where!

where so far!

Even trying to repair or re-install from the origonal CD results in the same
........ no authority to write to Registry Keys Error Messages.
