office upgrade install

I'm getting this message ..... "set up failed to locate
valid qualifying product on your machine"

I have MS Works 6.0 and MS Outlook Ver 2000 and was told
I qualify for an upgade. Any thoughts on what I can do to
get past this?

AFAIK those do not qualify for upgrade capability. Best
answer to get past this is either a.)buy a previous
version of Office from a computer supply store and upgrade
from there. b.)try to take it back to the place it was
bought from. c.) try selling it to a friend/co-worker and
buying a full version. Other than that, I think you may be
stuck.
