Office Upgrade

I recently upgraded my office version to 2003. Yet I still receive
notifications for updates to office 2000 and show the office 2000 shortcut
bar and templates. Did I miss something during the installation that I
needed to remove?

Not necessarily. Update anything that the site needs to be updated.
