Office Upgrade

I purchased two computers that came with Office XP
standard edition. I then purchased two copies of Office
XP upgrade, but they won't install. They fail saying
there is no qualifying product installed. Is this right?
Why wouldn't XP standard be a qualifying product?

Yes it is correct. The upgrade is looking for previous
installed versions of Office. Since you possess Office XP
it cant upgrade (as it is the same version). I doubt the
store will take them back since they are open so you may
be best served selling them to friends/coworkers. If the
upgrade has extra products with it (like Powerpoint etc.)
you would need to have those "other" Office Apps
installed. Thus the reason for no upgrade capabilities.

Because products of the same line have /never/ been QPs (you'd have known
this had you bothered to RTFB). Now your left with two items you can't
return because most stores don't take back open software!
