I run two versions of Microsoft Office in my Network. We run Office 2000 off
the Network (mapped drive) on 1/2 the computers and Office 2003 off the local
machine on the other half. We are slowly upgrading but because of the cost
have a way to go yet. All users are roaming.
My question. When users use Office 2003 it runs a "mini-setup". However,
when they then go to Office 2000, it runs a "mini-setup" and overwrites all
the Office 2003 settings and vice versa. The problem with this is because of
this "mini" setup problem double clicking on a file won't open it until the
"mini-setup" is complete.
Is there a way to resolve this? I use Manadatory Profiles and it seems that
the profile can either have the Office 2000 settings or the Office 2003
settings in the Users profile but not both?
