Office v4.3

I installed Office v4.3 (1994) and XP doesn't appear to like the 16 bit
format. Can I update or do I need to buy a new version of Office? If so,
how is the cheapest way to get it? Thanks!

Microsoft Office 4.3 is too old for you to use an upgrade version of
Microsoft Office 97 or later.

Since I heard that Microsoft Office 97 has some problems when running under
Windows XP, I'd recommend that you purchase a FULL version of either
Microsoft Office XP or Microsoft Office 2003.

You might be able to get your hands on a copy of Microsoft Office 2000,
however, I'm not sure how well it works under Windows XP.

The cheapest way would be to take a visit to a local Computer Show and Sale
(Trade Show) and purchase Microsoft Office XP.

FYI: I purchased Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 (Academic Price)
for under $200 at the Computer Show and Sale in Timonium (Maryland). The
only thing I need to keep in mind is that it is "Not for use in a commercial
environment" (only applies to the Academic Price edition). Then again, I'm
only using it for personal use anyway.
