Office Validation Problem trying to apply performance fix

J

jtpryan

We recently installed Outlook 2007 on several computers that are
running Office 2002 XP with Frontpage. Upon trying to apply the
Outlook 2007 performance fix, Office fails the validation with
"Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage: Invalid Product
Key[0x80180114] ". Now, I know that these copies of Office were
genuine and installed with valid licenses. I suspect that the
combination of installing Outlook 2007 on top of a 2002 version of
Office is screwing things up. I have posted the results of the
validation diagnostic tool below. Does anybody know of a work around
or a fix for this?

More than likely the volume license key you used for Office XP with
FrontPage has been blocked since the key was widely leaked on the Internet.
The error code, 114, suggests this is the case and you should be able to
obtain a valid key.

Right, but how do I do that?

Your IT department would be a good start since they would probably be the
ones who manage your volume licensing. Of course if you are IT then you
should be able to generate a new key using your volume license subscription.
If you can't do that then I'd say a call to Microsoft is in order. I'm sorry
I can't tell you more, once it comes to questions about obtaining product
keys all we can do is point you in the right direction. :)
