Office version changing

I have (or had) office 97 version for windows 98. By
mistake I took my office 95 disc and tried to download
powerpoint.

All my word and excel is now not opening.

What are my options?

1) Unload Office and go to a new version?

or are there others. (I could find my 97 disc)
