Office, Vista changed in wake of Adobe threat

Microsoft has said they are removing it BUT they are going to have a free
download. I haven't seen whether it's an add-in or a separate program or a
print to pdf type feature.

I truly hope its an add in. Currently, I like how it handles PDFs. Making
things as simple as possible is always a good thing, but you never know with
Adobe and Microsoft.

The long awaited feature for Save to PDF was short lived in Office 2007.
Per recent events, Adobe has basicly told Microsoft that they can not
include this as a feature or face more legal action.

Somewhat ironic that Microsoft can't use an Open Standard. The PDF support
in Office 2007 is superb and it is a shame that is will be removed.

I totally agree, the PDF support is awesome. I for 1 will hate to see it
go. Only thing I can suggest, is goto Adobe's web site and send your
thoughts to their company. Hopefully, they will reconsider.

And yet, for some reason Adobe is allowed to let you save PDF files in word
format....

There are free programs that will allow you to *create* .pdfs. You cannot
edit them with those programs. Acrobat does things that the freebies don't.
