Office Web Components 2003 Licensing

J

Jairo

We have succeeded in getting a desktop application (using Visual Basic 6) to
work with the spreadsheet component installed by the Office Web Components
2003. We generally ship this application to our customers in a CD media or
via web download. The installation program consists of a Windows Installer
Package (MSI).

1. Is there any way we can redistribute the Office Web Components 2003
together with our application to clients that do not have Office 2003
installed?

2. Assuming that the answer to 1 is positive, is there any way we can have a
merge module available of the OWC 2003 in order to include it in our
application’s installation program?

Thanks

No. There is no legal way to do this. Redistribution is explicitly forbidden

application's installation program?
See 1.

A comprehensive resource on licensing can be found in the OWC black book.
Also, there are licensing resources available on the Office website as well.
