Office Won't Let Me Register

I own a copy of Microsoft Office Xp that I installed on my old computer. I
recently bought a new computer, but it says since I registered it to another
computer (which is no longer in use) I can't register it to my new one. I
can't afford a new copy of Office...what do I do?

But it didn't come pre-installed on my old computer. My old computer is way
older than XP...is there any way to solve this problem? I've barely even
used my Office XP software because I just installed it a few weeks ago, and
then we decided to buy a faster computer...

Hi Twinkie,

It it's an OEM copy of Office (intended to be sold with a PC)
then it's licensed to the specific machine when activated
rather than to a person. With the retail copies the licenses
follow you.

You can try using the telephone activation method to explain
your situation to one of the activation folks.
