Office XP 2002 vs. Office 2003

Deb

I am working on a desktop w/ Office xp 2002, I am considering buying a used
laptop with Office 2003.

Does anyone know how compatible they are? I don't want to work on my laptop
and find that I cant use the documents when switching back to the desktop.

I have the CD for the XP software, would it be easier to uninstall 2003 and
just use the older version or to upgrade the desktop...

Thanks for your help

I used to switch back and forth between Office 2000, XP, and 2003 with no
difficulty. As long as you get the CDs for Office 2003 with the computer,
you should be fine.

Thanks JoAnn. But that's the rub. The CDs are not included with the laptop.
So I suppose I could try it - I'm just afraid to loose info from Outlook
etc...

Dump the version that's on the laptop. Sure you could buythe upgrade for
Office but when you go to install it on another computer, you will need a
qualifying product. You can't transfer Office from one computer to another
without the disks. And if the version of Office that's on the laptop is an
OEM version, they should be turing over all of the disks to you.
