Office XP Activation/Subscription questions

T

Trajan

Just installed Microsoft Office XP Professional Special Edition on a Windows
98SE laptop, and activated over the internet.

I don't have to re-activate if I change any of my system settings, like
changing partitions or swap file settings, right? This is only HW dependent?

Also, as I browsed the EULA it said somethng about a one-year subscription.
Do I have to pay for this product AGAIN a year from now??? What exactly does
that mean???

What did you read? One year? that's a lol...please, copy the part of the
EULA here to see what is it :) Your license won't expire ;) Yes, Product
Activation is hardware-dependent..

Microsoft sold a subscription version of Office XP but found it was too
cumbersome to support. Folks who got the prompt to re-subscribe were given
a telephone number to contact Microsoft for a permanent key. All of this is
from memory - Bob Buckland would know for sure.
