Office XP always prompts to save when closing

Office XP always prompts to save when closing even though I did not
modify.
This does not happen on Docs that I create,
It happens on the Word Docs that I download.


If I do save, then Word will still prompt me to save the next time I
look the doc again.
I have to read (Not modify) a lot of documents from school.

Any fixes?
