Couple of suggestions, have you tried cleaning the disk? You can get
disk cleaners but a careful wash with mild dish soap and warm water
followed by placing the disk on paper towels will remove dirt and
smudges and often the disk will read OK. Next, do you have a CD or a
DVD burner as well as a CDROM? If so, try reading the disk on the
burner, they seem to read damaged disks better than a CD ROM.
IMPORTANT! If it will read on the burner, copy it to your harddisk and
burn a copy so you'll have it next time.

Last, call MSFT. They have a program to replace damaged disks, they'll
need proof of purchase and a couple of bucks for shipping, I'm not sure
what software is covered but it won't hurt to try. If your copy is OEM
call the manufacturer.
